If it’s been a while since you’ve stepped on a metal foot measurer, then the bad news is that you’re probably been wearing the wrong shoe size. Worst part: it might be too small in size.
Experts reveal that shoe size can change slightly and which is why you might not be able to continue wearing those shoes that you bought at a sale ten years ago.
At the very least, wearing those shoes in an incorrect or outdated size will cause bunions and calluses making those summer less appealing.
It must be pointed that since the 70s, the average shoe size has gone up by two sizes and this is causing retailers and designers to change their strategy as a result. In fact, Stuart Weitzman, in an interview with the Wall Street Journal, mentioned that the average size of shoes produced at this company was a 7 but now the average size is a 12.
So, what’s the solution?
You have to check your shoe size at all times. Having said that, shoe sizes differ between brands and even within a single brand itself too. So, that’s something that you keep in mind when shopping especially if a bout of vanity shopping hits you.
As for shopping online, make sure you buy shoes in multiple sizes and try them on at the end of the day when your feet are the largest.
Of course, if you do discover that your shoe size is actually larger, you’re not the only one since half of women and one-third of men have admitted to spending on shoes that don’t fit either.
