If you are a new mom, you will soon realize that you will have less than five minutes to get ready. On top of the lack of time, most moms will soon find that their bodies look and feel a lot different compared to their pre-baby bodies. Here are some tips on how to revamp your wardrobe post-baby to help you look your best.
Go drapey – Once your baby has arrived, your post-baby tummy can look deflated and saggy for a few months. Look at wearing tops that drape away from your tummy and those that cascade over your body. Look at investing in a few T-shirt dresses, empire-waist dresses, tunics and tops with ruching near the bust. Since your tops will be baggy, look at bottoms that are slightly fitted to balance your look. Tailored pants, tights, and fitted jeans are all good choices.
Accessorize – To uplift your look and to make you look slimmer, accessorize. Long necklaces, cotton scarves, and dangly earrings will take the focus away from your fuller figure.
Shapewear – Invest in shapewear that will help to hold in your problem areas and give you a bit more confidence.
Maternity pieces – Most maternity pieces can be worn post-baby. Look at keeping a flowy, black jersey dress as you can add a belt to give shape and create a comfortable evening look. Wrap dresses are also a good choice, but maternity jeans and pencil skirts with adjustable waistbands should be given away as they will look and feel shabby.
